About Us

Star of Love was written by Kveton and Bunk and copyrighted by the composers in 2005. That same year a group of investors formed Star of Love LLC, whose sole purpose was to produce a quality non-commercial recording of the opera. In September 2005, a near complete recording of Star of Love was recorded at the Union Avenue Christian Church in St. Louis, Missouri. Robin Weahterall was orchestral director and conductor. Nancy Mayo was hired as vocal director. Recoding engineer was Jon Thomas of JT Engineering. John Boehne video taped the Thursday night rehearsal. Cindy Kveton was business manger and Gabriel Kveton acted as house manager for all rehearsals and recording sessions. Jon Thomas and Robin Weatherall mastered the recording which is now the legal property of Kveton and Bunk.

To address the ever-changing electronic and digital technologies that have revolutionized the music business, Kveton and Bunk retained the services of Emmett McAuliffe. Emmett is an experienced entertainment attorney from the firm of Spencer Fane Britt & Browne LLP. Hence, our marketing strategy will follow two paths: traditional and internet.

Our first line of marketing will be based on the retail success of a picture-storybook/CD of Star of Love. This format will consist of a large, full-color picture-storybook depicting a performance of the opera at the Pasta Opera House in Pimento, Italy with and accompanying CD of the performance. Filming of a fully-staged production will follow. As sales of the book and video increase, we anticipate local and national productions to be introduced.

In addition to these mediums, we expect to generate revenues from downloading of our music from the internet. The internet also provides us with another unique opportunity and the hallmark of our mission; education. Research has proven that listening to classical music stimulates the ability to think and learn. Yet opera and classical music are generally marketed to an older, more mature audience. The majority of young people are not “tuned” into the Arts, they perceive the genre as out-of-date. Could it be they were not properly introduced? The internet is the perfect choice to attract young people.

Opera can be fun! An expanded staroflove.org will showcase the composers, cast, and production crew along with many other inter-active features on future works in the “Saturday Night at the Opera” series. Finally, an array of accompanying educational programs for students aged 7-18 will be developed. These education components will include a comprehensive teachers’ guide (aligned with the national education standards in all content areas).

Our mission is simple: to introduce young people to the classic disciplines of voice, instrument, dance, acting, painting, and storytelling. Opera!
